DUMBLETON HALL, LODGE – Listed Building Extension & Basement Accommodation
Grade II Listed | Conservation Area | Large Residential Extension

Osbornes Architects were appointed to deliver a highly challenging brief to extend the existing Lodge building at the entrance to Dumbleton Hall. The scheme involved creating a substantial single-storey extension with a full basement, providing additional bedrooms alongside a new kitchen and living area. The design significantly improves functionality and living space while maintaining sensitivity to the historic setting.

The Lodge is a Grade II listed building located within a designated Conservation Area, making the proposal for such a sizeable addition particularly complex. Securing planning and listed building consent required extensive design development, heritage justification and close collaboration with the local conservation officer. Through a careful and considered approach, Osbornes successfully achieved consent for the extension while preserving the character and significance of the original structure.
