Osbornes Architects designed a detached double garage and workspace for an existing residential property, making intelligent use of the site’s natural levels to form a two-storey rear elevation. This approach maximised usable space while minimising the visual impact of the new structure from the principal viewpoints.

The project required complex detailing of retaining walls and associated structural elements to accommodate the changing ground levels safely and efficiently. These engineering-led solutions allowed the building to be integrated seamlessly into the landscape.

As part of the planning and ecological requirements, the scheme also incorporated bird and bat boxes, supporting local biodiversity and enhancing the ecological value of the site.

The result is a functional, sensitively designed outbuilding that complements the existing property and meets both structural and environmental obligations.
