Osbornes Architects were appointed to support the delivery of a new sand processing plant for Aga at their historic factory in Coalbrookdale. The project aimed to improve the overall efficiency and reliability of the iron-casting production line, a process central to the manufacture of Aga’s renowned range cookers.

The works involved significant modification of the existing factory building to accommodate the installation of a multimillion-pound sand-processing unit within the live production environment. This required detailed coordination, careful sequencing and close liaison with the client’s engineering teams to ensure the machinery could be integrated safely and with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.

The project was delivered successfully and has contributed to the continued production of new Aga range cookers for customers worldwide, reinforcing the brand’s longstanding heritage in Coalbrookdale.
