Stratford-upon-Avon – Café & Digital Art Gallery Conversion
Commercial Conversion | Conservation Area Design | Listed Building Consent
Osbornes provided architectural services for the conversion of a former Patisserie Valerie unit into a new café and digital art gallery in the centre of Stratford-upon-Avon. The scheme involved the creation of new front- and back-of-house spaces, including a fully equipped commercial kitchen, accessible customer facilities, and a reconfigured seating area. Externally, an enclosed courtyard was formed with new ramped access to improve inclusivity and usability.
The site lies directly opposite Shakespeare’s Birthplace, within the heart of the historic town centre and its designated Conservation Area. As a result, the proposed design, material palette and colour scheme required sensitive handling and were successfully delivered through both Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent. The completed project offers a vibrant new destination that enhances this prominent heritage setting.
