Hillend House – Eastnor, Herefordshire
HILLEND HOUSE
Heritage Refurbishment | Estate Property Upgrades | Conservation Architecture | Herefordshire
Osbornes Architects worked with the Eastnor Castle Estate to refurbish and alter one of their historic estate properties for use as high-quality guest accommodation supporting weddings and events. The project involved essential repairs to the roofs and chimneys, together with a comprehensive programme of internal repair, reordering and reconfiguration to provide modern en-suite bathrooms to all bedrooms while retaining the building’s traditional character.
A key part of the project was liaising closely with the local authority conservation officer and a private building inspector to integrate upgraded fire-alarm systems and enhanced fire-safety measures. These improvements were designed and implemented sensitively to ensure full compliance with fire standards without compromising the architectural significance of the estate building.
The completed refurbishment provides comfortable, high-specification accommodation that supports Eastnor Castle’s expanding events programme while securing the long-term conservation of an important estate asset.
