WIGGINTON GRANGE, TAMWORTH – Kitchen Extension & Conversion of Stable Block
Residential Extension | Garage/Stable Conversion | Sympathetic Traditional Detailing

Osbornes Architects designed a modest flat-roof extension at Wigginton Grange to create a new, modern kitchen that integrates seamlessly with the existing house. The extension enhances functionality and natural light while maintaining a low visual impact on the host building.

Alongside the extension, Osbornes delivered the conversion of an existing garage and stable block into a new three-bedroom home. The original structure was fully stripped back and extended to the side and rear, with careful consideration given to retaining the character of the historic outbuilding.

A key part of the project was achieving a high level of craftsmanship to ensure the new works remained sympathetic to the original architecture. This included the hand-cutting of bricks to replicate the slim profiles used in the historic fabric, allowing the extension and conversion to blend seamlessly with the existing property.

The overall scheme transforms under-used ancillary buildings into high-quality residential accommodation while preserving the traditional aesthetic of Wigginton Grange.
