VICTORIA ROAD, MALVERN – Contemporary Home in the Conservation Area
New Family Home | Conservation Area Design | Contemporary Architecture within Historic Context

Osbornes Architects secured planning permission for a new contemporary family home within the Malvern Hills Conservation Area. The project required a sensitive and creative approach to meet the client’s aspirations for a modern design while ensuring the new dwelling sat comfortably within its historic surroundings.

The design for 3A Victoria Road responds directly to the established rhythm and proportions of neighbouring properties, allowing the building to integrate seamlessly into the streetscape. While clearly contemporary in appearance, the scheme draws on local architectural language through the use of splayed window reveals, corbelling and dentil courses. These details reference the traditional craftsmanship of nearby buildings while giving the new house its own distinct identity.

The result is a thoughtfully balanced home that respects the character of the Conservation Area, enhances the architectural quality of the street, and delivers a unique, modern living environment tailored to the client’s needs.
