MADAME TUSSAUDS, LONDON
Visitor Attraction Architecture | Themed Environments | Complex Live-Site Projects
Osbornes Architects has a long-standing relationship with Merlin Entertainments, delivering projects across multiple London Cluster attractions and at the SEA LIFE Centre in Brighton. Our work spans refurbishment, complex alterations, themed environments and major capital upgrades within some of the UK’s most visited attractions.
A key highlight includes the multi-million-pound redevelopment of the Madame Tussauds building on Marylebone Road, which now houses the Star Wars attraction. Over the years, Osbornes has also helped to refurbish large sections of the attraction, supporting Merlin’s ongoing programme of visitor-experience enhancements.
Our role frequently involves overcoming the technical, creative and logistical challenges that come with live visitor sites—ranging from the installation of a 15-foot animatronic King Kong head, to assisting in the creation of a highly immersive Sherlock Holmes live theatre experience. These projects require a unique blend of design sensitivity, engineering coordination, and operational awareness.
The enduring trust between client and architect has been built over many years, and Osbornes takes pride in being able to support Merlin with every aspect of project delivery—from early concept design to complex on-site implementation. This collaborative relationship and our ability to deliver under challenging conditions is something we believe sets us apart.
